Light The Night is a community fundraising campaign that brings light to the darkness of cancer by supporting lifesaving research, advocacy and services for people impacted by blood cancer. Participants may join as individuals, with friends and family, or as part of a corporate team.

How participation works 

Individuals and Friends and Family participants

  • Fundraise at a self-directed pace 

  • Registration is free, but participants are encouraged to raise funds to support the mission

Light The Night includes opportunities for patients, survivors, caregivers, and families to participate and be recognized. 

Support may include: 

  • Community participation opportunities 

  • Recognition experiences where applicable 

  • Connection to support resources

Corporate Teams 

  • Participate as a workplace or organizational team 

  • Teams often set shared fundraising goals 

  • Progress may be highlighted through campaign leaderboards

What to expect on event night

Light The Night culminates in inspirational, memorable evening experiences filled with mission connections and community. During Light The Night, participants carry illuminated lanterns in three colors: 

  • White lanterns are carried by patients and survivors 

  • Red lanterns are carried by supporters  

  • Gold lanterns are carried by those walking in memory of loved ones lost to cancer 

 

Light The Night events typically include: 

  • A community gathering 

  • An evening walk experience 

  • An empowering ceremony remembering those we have lost, honoring survivors, and celebrating community support
