Registering with Team In Training (TNT) means you are supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Mission to raise lifesaving funds to support blood cancer research and patient support. In return for your fundraising efforts, you earn exclusive access to our training resources and an entry into a specific event.
Your TNT journey will start with a focus on connecting you to our TNT community, fundraising guidance, and training support. We are here to help! Your staff partner will email you with fundraising resources and to set up a goal planning call, and you will receive an invitation to connect with your Coach and access your training plan in TrainingPeaks.
STEP 1: JOIN THE TEAM IN TRAINING PROGRAM
Join the TNT Program by registering for an event and selecting your fundraising level at https://www.teamintraining.org/choose-your-event.
- When you register for your desired event, you select a minimum fundraising level and its associated program benefits. This amount is the minimum required to raise to earn access to the event. Our fundraising specialists will work with you to develop a plan to reach beyond this goal.
- If you would like to change the fundraising level and associated benefits, you may do so during the Commitment process (subject to availability).
- You will receive access to an Event Info Site with more details about what you can expect during your event weekend experience as well as your event's timeline for the Commitment & Event Weekend Selections process.
STEP 2: SIGN THE COMMITMENT AGREEMENT
As the event gets closer, you will be emailed a link to your personalized Commitment Agreement. Don’t wait until you receive the agreement to begin your fundraising.
- This is your pledge that you will meet or exceed your selected fundraising amount by the first business day following your event date, regardless of your participation in the event. Remember, you will have a staff partner to support you in your fundraising. We can work with you to go beyond your goals.
- If the fundraising commitment amount has not been reached by the deadline, you agree to personally donate the remaining balance.
- By the commitment deadline, you will either:
- Opt in (aka ‘Commit’) by signing the commitment agreement and keep moving forward with your goals. Let us keep moving forward in our fight against cancer!
- Opt out (aka ‘drop’) from the program with no further fundraising obligation. All funds raised will be put toward the LLS Mission. Funds cannot be refunded or deferred toward participation in a future event.
** Please note, if you opted in, but later need to discontinue your participation for any reason other than one listed below, you are still responsible for the full fundraising amount you committed to raise for the LLS mission.
- Suppose you cannot continue with the program due to injury, deployment, or pregnancy. In this case, formal documentation like a doctor's note or copy of military orders must be submitted to LLS. You will be released of your obligation to fulfill your fundraising commitment. Funds cannot be deferred towards participation in a future event.
STEP 3: MAKE YOUR EVENT WEEKEND SELECTIONS
Remember those program benefits associated with the fundraising level you chose? The commitment agreement will take you to the next step, which is choosing specifics related to those benefits!
- Jersey Selection: You will select your preferred event weekend jersey size and where to ship it.
- Hotel and Dinner Selections: For applicable events and at certain fundraising levels, you will also let us know if you are attending any onsite functions, what hotel accommodations you need, and if you have guests who will be joining you onsite for your event weekend.
- After you submit your selections, you will receive a confirmation email with a summary of your selections and information on how to later make any changes and the deadlines to do so.
STEP 4: REGISTER FOR THE RACE [FOR RUN/WALK EVENTS ONLY]
- While you do indicate which event you’d like to participate in when you register for the Team In Training program, actually being “race registered” (meaning, you are on the athlete list with the actual race organizers and have a bib), is a separate step.
- After signing the Commitment Agreement, we’ll provide you with instructions to officially register for the race.
STEP 5: CELEBRATE DURING YOUR EVENT WEEKEND!
Now it's time to CELEBRATE! You've done the fundraising and training. Now it's time to take that victory lap. This is a time to honor your WHY - why you chose to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. You're now a hero for blood cancer patients everywhere.
