Submit a matching gift request

Summary

After you make an eligible donation, you must submit a matching gift request through your employer’s matching gift or workplace giving program to have your gift matched.

IMPORTANT: Blood Cancer United cannot submit matching gift requests on behalf of donors.
All matching gift requests must be initiated and completed through your employer.

Before you start

  • You must have already made a match‑eligible individual donation
  • Your employer must offer a matching gift program

How to submit a matching gift request

  1. Make your donation

    • Complete your donation to Blood Cancer United using any standard donation method.
  2. Access your employer’s matching gift program

    • Log in to your employer’s matching gift portal or workplace giving system.
    • If you're not sure where to find it, use the  employer matching gift search tool to locate program details and submission instructions.
    • These programs are managed by your employer or a third-party provider, not by Blood Cancer United.
  3. Search for Blood Cancer United

    • If the organization does not appear, search using our Employer Identification Number (EIN): 13‑5644916.
  4. Submit the matching gift request

    • Complete all required fields in your employer’s system.
    • Some employers may request donation details or confirmation.
  5. Employer review and processing

    • Your employer reviews the request and sends the matching gift according to their program rules.

What to expect after you submit

  • Processing times vary by employer
  • Matching gifts are applied after the donor submits the match and Blood Cancer United is notified
    • In some cases, your employer's system notifies us automatically.
    • In others, additional confirmation may be required.
  • To help us apply matching gift credit more quickly, you may let us know once you’ve submitted your matching gift request by completing our workplace giving request form.
    • This form helps us confirm submission when employer notifications are delayed.
  • Matching gift credit may not appear immediately
    • When the form is submitted, donors typically receive a response within 48 hours
    • Crediting timelines may be longer when no notification is received
