How employer matching gifts and workplace giving work

Summary

Employer matching gifts and workplace giving programs allow companies to support charitable donations made by their employees. This article explains how matching gifts work, how workplace giving differs, and what to expect after you donate.

NOTE: Matching gifts and workplace giving are different from sponsorships and participant fundraising. Sponsorships are initiated by participants. Employer programs are initiated by donors through their workplace.
