Dropping or swapping your Stairclimb spot
If you need to drop out of the Firefighter Stairclimb or transfer your climbing spot to another participant on your team, you must complete the Swaps and Drops form.
When completing the form, you indicate one of the following:
- Drop – You give up your climbing spot entirely, or
- Swap – You transfer your climbing spot to another participant on your team
If you are requesting a swap, the participant taking your place must already be registered on the waitlist before you submit the form.
Because additional questions appear based on your responses, you must complete all required sections of the form before submitting.
What happens after you submit the form
- Swaps and drops are processed within 7–10 business days
Important deadlines
-
2/19/27 - Last day to drop without penalty
- After today, participants that can no longer climb will be required to meet the $500 minimum fundraising to be eligible to climb in 2028.
-
3/5/27 - Last day to Swap
- After today climbers will not be able to give their spot to someone not registered or on the waitlist.
