The Firefighter Stairclimb event has ended. The information below is provided for reference and explains the rules that apply during the event period.

Dropping or swapping your Stairclimb spot
If you need to drop out of the Firefighter Stairclimb or transfer your climbing spot to another participant on your team, you must complete the Swaps and Drops form.
When completing the form, you indicate one of the following:
- Drop – You give up your climbing spot entirely, or
- Swap – You transfer your climbing spot to another participant on your team
If you are requesting a swap, the participant taking your place must already be registered on the waitlist before you submit the form.
Because additional questions appear based on your responses, you must complete all required sections of the form before submitting.
What happens after you submit the form
- Swaps and drops are processed within 7–10 business days
Important deadlines

February 6 (11:59 PM PST)
Last day to drop without being required to meet the $300 fundraising minimum -
February 13 (11:59 PM PST)
Final deadline to drop or swap your climbing spot- If you drop after this date, you are still responsible for meeting the $300 fundraising minimum
- If the minimum is not met, you are not eligible to climb the following year
